About me

Opening my own cooking school has been a long-standing dream, but like many things in life, it seemed challenging and a big step to take. As a secondary school teacher with 15 years of experience, I've decided that 2024 is the year to finally take that leap. I'm determined to pursue my passion, open my own business, and follow my dream. My hope is to share my enthusiasm and love for cooking with others. As a devoted mother of two primary school children, I bring a wealth of personal and professional experience to my role as a full-time Food Technology teacher for various age groups. Drawing from my own journey with two family members enrolled in the NDIS, I have developed a deep understanding of various conditions, including ASD, ADHD, Anxiety, challenges related to social and emotional regulation, as well as chronic mobility conditions—particularly those affecting wheelchair users. This firsthand knowledge enriches my teaching approach and enhances my ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. I always stay positive and care about others. I understand, am patient, and treat everyone with respect. I strongly support and speak up for people who need help, especially in the disability and education systems.

I hold registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) as a qualified educator. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Education, specialising in Food Technology, Health, and Science. Additionally, I possess a Bachelor of Science with a major focus on Food Science & Nutrition, as well as a Master's in Public Health & Nutrition with a major in Health Promotion. I also hold a Certificate II in Hospitality and a Certificate in Assessment and Training (TAE) qualification to teach adult education which enabled me to teach VET Kitchen Operations at the VCE level. I hold my First Aide certificate, CPR Certificate, Anaphylaxis certificate, NDIS worker screening check, VIT (which including WWCC). I have completed DET Mandatory Reporting Training (Child Safe) including all DET OH&S modules.
